GREENWICH, NY – The Town and Village of Greenwich have officially launched their Bike
Ped Connectivity Plan.
The Town and Village of Greenwich are conducting a joint pedestrian and bicycle
connectivity project to build on what was identified in the Comprehensive Plan as the need
to improve pedestrian and bicycle access and establish priorities to improve connectivity.
The plan will examine existing conditions, assess network gaps and identify opportunities to
improve pedestrian accessibility and bicycle connectivity to key sites and amenities
throughout the Town and Village.
The Town and Village have recently pursued several planning initiatives, many of which
included recommendations for improved bicycle and pedestrian facilities. This project will
build upon and incorporate these recommendations into an overall strategy for
implementation and improve connectivity for cyclists and pedestrians living in or visiting
Greenwich.
Funding from the Adirondack Glens Falls Transportation Council (A/GFTC) is supporting this
project. The process is being led by a study advisory committee made up of community
members and stakeholders, as well as representatives from A/GFTC and the NYS
Department of Transportation. The Bike Ped Connectivity Plan will be a stakeholder-driven
and inclusive planning process to ensure that community priorities are at the center of the
plan. There will be several opportunities throughout the process for the public to provide
their input on the project’s goals and strategies.
Look out for the project maps set up in the Town Hall, Village Hall, and the Greenwich Free
Library to provide feedback, or use our online interactive map which can be found here:
